Titled "Biodiesel: opportunities and challenges in the long term," the report presents contributions to the document "Bio Brazil 2030", the MME prepares to design the energy market for that year.
"The design of energy policy depends on an expanding biofuels market, sustainable, competitive and inducing all the synergies and technological resources available," says note the Department of renewable fuels at the Ministry, before the meeting Thursday.
In this sense, the entities-Brazilian Association of vegetable oil industries (ABIOVE), Biodiesel producers Association of Brazil (APROBIO) and the Brazilian Union of Biodiesel and Biokerosene (UBRABIO) – prepared a large x-ray of the raw materials markets and biofuel in the country.
The document details the potential of biodiesel in the brazilian energy matrix and environmental commitments signed by the country in the international arena. In this sense, the effort and dedication are the construction of a scenario to 2030, with projections on the Brazilian biodiesel market based on reasoned assumptions.
The industry proposes a gradual increase of mandatory blending, which can follow the minimum schedule of B8 (8% of biodiesel per litre of diesel; today it's B7) in 2017 and 2019, as even B10 laid down in law, B15 in 2025 and B20 in 2030.
"I think it is essential we put in a noble space energy future for biofuels, especially biodiesel, so that we have a range of use with flexibility. A mixture that has a face value, but that can float for a seasonal balance. In other words, the average can be the B20, but who can swing a bit more or less, without breaking any rules, "said Felix.
The initiative of the three associations aligns with the position of the Ministry and Brazil's proposal for reducing greenhouse gas emissions at COP 21, the United Nations Climate Conference, held in December last year in Paris. The Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), already approved by Congress Nacionale ratified by Executive Branch last month, referring to the year 2030 as deadline for achievement of the goals presented in France.

The important thing, as in any economy recovers and seeks stabilization, is the ability to establish a minimum of predictability in planning public policies fostering production, consumption connected of inputs and raw materials, adding value throughout the production chain, investment in research and development of new technologies and product insertion into international markets.
Biodiesel, the latest news from the basket of renewable sources in the brazilian energy matrix seeks, above all, matches the expectations of all members of your chain, the farmer who cultivates raw materials to the final consumer, on behalf of the structured growth of brazilian economy as a whole.
