Petrobras refinery sets production record

The Paulínia Refinery (Replan) set a monthly record of bunder 2020 (fuel oil used in ship engines, with a low sulphur content, reaching the mark of 123,000 m³ – 123 million liters). Currently, Replan is Petrobras' largest unit in capacity to oil processing.

The new mark is 36% higher than the previous record of 90,000 achieved in January of this year. It is worth remembering that since the beginning of 2020, ship fuel, marketed in Brazil and more than 170 countries, should 0.5% sulphur content. The determination was made by the Convention International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (Marpol). However, the Petrobras has been marketing the correct product since last year.

In more, Replan accounted for 12% of the entire Bunker produced by the company. Considering only the month of May, this index was 22%. The entire Bunker produced by the refinery in Paulínia is transported by pipelines to the Barueri Terminal, where it is stored to be shipped, also by pipelines, to the Port of Santos.
