Refinery sells less pollutant naval fuel

The Petrobras refinery, Abreu e Lima (RNEST), started the commercialization of the Bunker 2020, fuel oil used in ships engines, with low sulphur content, thus reducing the negative impacts aggressors to the environment. The first sale was carried out in the last week, with about 16000 m³ of the product, destined for export.

"The Bunker 2020" receives this name due to the change in the maximum limit for the sulphur content, which will be worth the global refining and fuel market from 2020. Maritime transport has the highest sulphur emission rates.

In the period from April to June 2019, Petrobras surpassed the mark of 190,000 m³ of Bunker 2020 produced, plus the volumes of five more refining subsidiaries: ISAAC Sabbá Refinery (Reman), Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM), Paulinia Refinery (Replan), Henrique Lage Refinery (REVAP) and Duque de Caxias Refinery (Reduc).
