As the world is opting for cleaner fuels over the years, oil consumption will eventually become less and less every day. According to the Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell, Ben van Beurden, the black gold must have your peak consumption until the end of the next decade, losing space for renewable energies.
Second Beurden, electric vehicles will become more popular in the next decade, which will start replacing traditional cars combustion engines, for the rechargeable battery, plus use of biofuels. The France and the United Kingdom have already taken a step in that direction and are considering up to 2040 ban diesel and petrol vehicles circulate in the countries.
But clean energy be the future of fuels in the world, according to the report of the Royal Dutch Shell, the oil may still be needed for decades, since it probably will remain the primary fuel for aircraft, ships and heavy trucks.
