Last Wednesday (30), the National Biofuels Policy, RenovaBio, reached the mark of 10 million decarbonization credits (CBIOs) validated in the CBIO Platform, according to data from the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The number corresponds to 67% of the target for the years 2019 and 2020, out of a total of 14.9 million CBIOs, according to Resolutions No. 15/2019 and No. 8/2020 of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE).
"The CBIOs market has been experiencing significant positive changes as RenovaBio advances," the ANP said. According to the Agency, in September the record number of CBIOs validated on the Platform (2.2 million) was recorded, raising the average number of CBIOs generated in the last three months to 2 million/month. The goal for 2019 and 2020 is expected to be reached by December.
RenovaBio is a program of the Federal Government, launched by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, whose main objective is to stimulate the production and consumption of biofuels in Brazil. The policy is based on predictability, environmental, economic and social sustainability, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the fuel matrix.ACESSE AS REDES DA PANORAMA OFFSHORE:
