Rio de Janeiro is in a hurry to regulatory changes in oil royalties

The crisis in the state of Rio de Janeiro was one of the main drivers for reasons that city lawmakers were the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) in order to accelerate a decision on regulatory changes in oil royalties.

The new methodology to be set for the calculation of royalties can raise R $ 2 billion in annual revenue with state oil production. In early April, a delegation of the state government was in ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) to discuss the requests related to the topic.
