Knowing the arrival of oil stains in the southeast region of the country, Rio de Janeiro, as a way to prevent it, is preparing technical teams to act in case of oil surge in the coastal region of the state. Initially, the training will serve municipalities in northwestern Rio de Janeiro and the Lakes Region and will soon then cover cities in the metropolitan region and southern Rio de Janeiro.
The training, which is in its second phase this week, was offered by Inea (State Institute of Environment) for several technicians from the municipalities of São Francisco do Itabapoana, São João da Barra, Campos dos Goytacazes, Carapebus, Quissamã, Rio das Ostras, Casimiro de Abreu, Macaé, Arraial do Cabo, Cabo Frio, Buzios and Saquarema. The is expected that the cities of the metropolitan region and southern Rio de Janeiro are already attended next week.
Last week, the first stage empowered about 80 people, including technicians from the state Civil Defense, the Fire Department, collaborators of Inea himself, as well as army military personnel.
