Oil royalties: Rio tries to postpone Supreme Court decision

The government of Rio de Janeiro has been trying to postpone the trial of the Supreme Court on the bill for the redistribution of oil royalties. Last Monday (19), the government part of virtual audience on the topic promoted by Alerj (Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro). According to the state, the project can bring losses of up to R $ 57 billion. The trial date is set for December 3.

This change in oil royalty distribution guidelines was approved in 2012. The project foresees a reduction in the gains of producing states and transfers part of the resources to other units of the federation.

The Government of Rio then decided to support a proposal to negotiate a new text, produced by the government of Espírito Santo.
