Secretary states that Eletrobras can cost billions if it is not privatized

According to the Secretary of the National treasury, Mansueto Almeida, if Eletrobras is not privatized, the Union should make a cut of R $12 billion in the 2019 budget. Mansueto still argues that the pension reform is necessary for the economic restructuring of the public safes. The statements were made during the event of Bradesco BBI for investors in New York.

Mansueto expressed optimism about the expansion of the energy sector in Brazil, due to market investments that aim at the company's denationalization. He also emphasized that the topic that deals with the negotiations on the onerous assignment involving Petrobras and the government, can be completed in 2019.

For the secretary, the approval of the pension reform, which is in the house, would result in a relatively five-month time savings to be approved in Congress. Otherwise, if there are corrections in the text, the proposal would be postponed to the second half of next year.
