Senate evaluates energy credit donation proposal

Bill 2.474/2020, which allows the donation of excessive credits for electricity generation for essential activities, should be analyzed soon by the Federal Senate.

The proposal, which allows micro and mini-generators of energy to give their excessive credits, was approved by the House of Representatives on the last day 31. Initially, the energy credits would be destined only to hospitals, nursing homes and other philanthropic entities involved in the direct fight against covid-19. However, an amendment expanded the benefit for essential activities such as health care, public safety and telecommunications.

The measure is expected to be worth up to 12 months after the end of the public health emergency period, decreed due to the coronavirus pandemic. If the text is approved, it will proceed to presidential sanction.
