Shell should start exploring Santos basin in 2018

The Anglo-Dutch Shell reported that it intends to initiate the perforations in the southern area of the Mato cat, in the Santos Basin, in 2018. The block was all done in the pre-salt auction held in October, under the production-sharing arrangements with the Total French.

According to the president of the company in Brazil, André Araújo, the Shell has already conducted drilling in the area and therefore has experience, which will save time for the initiation of the work. Despite the realization of new studies, the oil company has already told me where it wishes to carry out the drilling. The Shell is operator of the two areas, with 80% participation. The company intends to invest about $2 billion a year in the country up to 2020.
