Gibraltar: retained ship had maximum oil load

Tests pointed out that an Iranian supertanker seized in Gibraltar last week was fully loaded with oil, the British government reported on Monday.

The British Royal Navy seized the Grace 1 ship on the coast of Gibraltar on Thursday, on charges that he would be breaking sanctions when sending oil to Syria.

"The Government of His Majesty of Gibraltar can now confirm, after receiving the results of comprehensive laboratory tests, which… The Grace 1, seized in the early hours of Thursday morning, is loaded in maximum capacity with crude oil, "said the government in a statement.

"The results of these tests… Contradict the declarations of some Parties outside the jurisdiction, which speculated that the shipment on the ship was not oil. ”
