Shipyard Cove will have investments of Odebrecht

In a statement to the newspaper Valor Econômico, Odebrecht Group denied that there are plans for closure of the shipyard's activities. Besides the construction of six new probes for the Seven Brazil, commissioned by Petrobras in 2011, other businesses are being analyzed for on-site production.

The company explained that is in search of new contracts for offshore naval activities, as well as opportunities to add assets and diversify the business. Odebrecht also reported that there is an ongoing debt restructuring, in light of the problems derived from the Seven Brazil.

However, the company says it has currently has the intention to attract long-term investors and develop business in the logistics area for storage of fuel. The Group also said it considers using the ability to manufacture and Assembly of shipyards, to provide integrated solutions to engineering and construction of wind farms.
