Statoil has government endorsement to export oil

The federal government has endorsed the Norwegian Statoil to exercise the oil export activity, according to the authorisation published in the Official Gazette of the union this Tuesday.

Authorization occurs at a time when the oil company prepares to drill wells in the important discovery of Carcará.

Recently, a company representative said the goal is to start production on site, which can contain more than 2 billion barrels of oil equivalent, between 2023 and 2024. Statoil's partners at Carcará include Exxon Mobil and Galp, Portugal.
