A new kind of pre-salt is about to be explored and start selling it to the private market. According to experts, the region is located in the contiguous range of the pre-salt, in the Santos basin, specifically in the southeast, and corresponds to a productivity of 15.9 billion barrels in which it would increase 50% of the volume of oil and gas reserves in the country.
The area is being studied by the Ministry of Mines and Energy that intends to put it in new auctions that will be held from 2020 or 2021. The new treasure, according to information from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), by the Brazilian Geological Service and the Navy of Brazil, has evidence that in addition to oil, contains other minerals such as cobalt and manganese.
Through seismic analysis, the region has shown that total reserves account for 20 to 30 billion barrels of oil, but of this total, only 4 to 6 billion barrels are recoverable and extracted.
