U.S.: Weekly inventories fall by nearly 5 million barrels

According to data released on Wednesday (20), by the Department of Energy of the United States, the country's oil inventories decreased by 4.982 million barrels in the week ended May 15, to 526.494 million units. Some analysts expected to rise by 1.4 million barrels in the period.

According to the data, gasoline production also fell to 7.2 million bpd and distilled fuel also fell to 4.8 million bpd. Total gasoline inventories rose by 2.8 million barrels and are about 10% above the five-year average for this time of year. Distillate fuel inventories have increased by 3.8 million barrels and are about 19% above the five-year average for this time of year.
