According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the installation of solar photovoltaic systems should increase in the next five years, which will contribute to the boost of production and consumption of this form of energy. In figures, the report predicts that total renewable capacity will grow by 50% between 2019 and 2024 globally.
"Renewable stakes are already the second largest source of electricity in the world, but its deployment still needs to accelerate if we are to achieve long-term goals for climate, air quality and access to energy," the IEA executive board said.
The report shows that this increase is driven by government policies and cost reductions.
