17th Bidding Round is suspended by THE ANP

The board of directors of the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved this week the temporary suspension of the 17th Bidding Round. The auctions were planned for this year and would be for the exploration areas and production of oil and natural gas under concession. The suspension took place account of the current COVID-19 scenario in the country.

The determination was made by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and served by the ANP. The MME requested the measure by letter, which covers the suspension of all actions relating to the 17th Round, specifically those related to the publication of the pre-notice and the draft contract.

From according to the information, the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) will set a new schedule for the bid, which will be evaluated.
