Local content changes will be announced in mid-November

The Ministry of development, industry and trade (MDIC) put in public consultation, in mid-November, the local content policy changes that will be used in the rounds of bidding for areas next year, according to the Secretary of petroleum and Natural gas of the Ministry of mines and energy (MME), Márcio Félix.

He said he met last week with representatives of the supplier industry and who received them claims to ensure local procurement of equipment and services for oil companies that will participate in the auctions. Among the claims made were the inclusion of goods in the list of possible
acquisitions in Brazil.
In addition to the changes in local content policy, industry asks for tax neutrality in relation to the tax regime, Repetro allows the import of equipment without paying taxes. The supplier industry asks for tax exemption equivalent to having the same competitiveness of imported.

"The philosophical principle presented by local suppliers I understand and defend. But the understandings about equality vary greatly, "said Felix, noting that the decision on the Repetro is the Ministry of finance and that he does not participate in this debate.

The Secretary of MME participated, on Nov 1, the ceremony of farewell to Magda Chambriard General Board of the national agency of petroleum, Natural gas and biofuels (ANP), who leaves office on Friday.
