ANP reflects on GoFit release

Updated 10/12/2019.

The Supply Supervision Superintendence, technical area of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) recommended to the board of directors the release of the GoFit application. However, this release for the gasoline and diesel trade would occur through a pilot project within one year. According to the agency's advice, the board will still make a decision on the matter.

The project would have direct monitoring of the ANP, which would evaluate the need to make a specific regulation or change the rules so that the fuel supply modality be contemplated in the framework of Regulatory.

For the ANP, the Economic Freedom Act, sanctioned by President Jair Bolsonaro in September, and the resolution of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) 12/2019 make room for a open regulation of new technologies and business arrangements that stimulate competition in the sector.

In time, the ANP became aware of the application, which this is a delivery for the sale of gasoline and ethanol directly to the consumer via mobile phone application, after complaints received and by the commercial advertising of the company itself. Soon after, GoFit had its service paralyzed, since it was launched and sold fuel without the approval of the Agency.
