COVID-19: Cases grow on platforms
In the last week, cases of COVID-19 contamination have jumped on oil rigs. According to a report by the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), there were 30 new cases in the offshore industry in just one day.
To date, the estimate is 162 workers infected with the disease. This number represents an increase of 22.7% of confirmed cases. In other than that, the number of suspected cases is already over 1000.
According to the safety protocol, contaminated professionals and anyone who has had contact with these workers must disembark from the platform mandatorily. If it is not possible to maintain a team to maintain the offshore operation, production on that platform will be suspended.
