Distributors must adjust fuel price

The Bill is being processed in the House of Representatives 2367/20, which requires fuel stations and distributors to adjust the values according to the price change defined in the refineries. In in case of non-compliance with the measure, the text defines a fine of R$ 10,000 to R$ 1 Million.

The author of the proposal is Congressman Paulo Ramos (PDT-RJ). For him, many consumers complain about price increases in refineries, and that they are quickly passed on to consumers by stations and distributors, but the same is not true of reductions. "We believe that this misstep between prices at refineries and pumps should be corrected. The free market is not always as agile as its defenders usually claim and does not always act in the best interest of the consumer", he argues.
