Equinor's first solar power plant is expected to operate in this year

Last Monday, November 12, Aneel authorized the test operation of the Apodi photovoltaic solar power plant, of 162 MW, located in Quixeré, Ceará. The project, is the first solar energy investment of Equinor in the world, in partnership with Scatec Solar and Kroma Energia, and will be operational even this year.

The aim of the program is to provide energy for about 160,000 residences. Equinor will obtain 50% participation in the company that executes the project, which allows the participation of the elaboration and realization of future programs in renewable system. The Norwegian companies Equinor and Scatec Solar still enable other future clean energy partnerships.

The projects are important for the country, due to the investment of the Norwegian state and also for helping the renewable system, thus avoiding pollution.
