FPSO should begin oil extraction next month

On the last day 5, the largest offshore exploration platform developed for Petrobras was launched to the sea bound for the Santos Basin. The start of the operation of FPSO (Floating Unit of Production, Storage and Oil Transfer) Carioca is scheduled for next August.

The unit that began construction in 2017, is the first platform ship in the Sepia field, the area that was already used for pre-salt exploration, will now be one of the largest oil exploration. The expectation is that Brazil will become one of the world's largest exporters.
