How does P&G production at Petrobras work?

It is not new that Petrobras is one of the main companies in Brazil, and has also become a major international reference, even going through some crises. The Brazilian state-owned company specializes in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas and strongly moves the economy. Therefore, it is necessary that we understand, at least, minimally how this occurs.

Petroleum and natural gas exploration and production are Petrobras' core activities. Thus, the company is always looking to increase its reserves and develop production actions in order to supply the growing demand for energy in the country. Following this line, it is possible to analyze the great capacity of the company through exploration in the deep waters of the Campos Basin, for example, started since the 1970s, when technology was not yet at the level of today. Thus, the state-owned company specialized and, today, the production of pre-salt in deep waters is already a reality, an activity that also allows a considerable income for several employees.

Most of Petrobras' oil reserves are in offshore fields, which means that drilling has reached greater and greater depths. Thus, acting in pre and post-salt areas, the company is always looking to invest. An example of this are the new production systems that came into operation recently, six in the pre-salt layer (P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77), in the Búzios field (P-69) and in the field Lula P-67, not counting the FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes, in the Tartaruga Verde field, in the Campos Basin. Finally, by the year 2023, Petrobras plans to invest, still, about US $ 68.8 billion in exploration and production of oil and natural gas.
