Iran seizes pirate ship, claims Revolutionary Guard

According to information from the Revolutionary Guard of Iran (GRI) on Thursday (18), the country seized a foreign tanker that smuggled fuel into the Persian Gulf. The "pirate" tanker was retained on Sunday, July 14th, to the south of the Iranian island of Lark, in the Strait of Ormuz.

"A foreign vessel smuggling 1 million liters of fuel on the Lark island of the Persian Gulf was seized," announced Sepah News, an official GRI communication medium. The name of the boat and its nationality have not been disclosed.
