An initiative of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), through the More Light to the Amazon program, will direct R$ 386 million in investments in electricity to the communities of the municipalities of Curralinho, Melgaço and Portel, located in the Marajó archipelago, in the state of Pará.
The project is expected to be run in this first phase until December 2022, and is expected to serve 12,600 new consumers in localities. The service will be done by extension of the electricity distribution network in localities with connection to the National Interconnected System (SIN), and through systems for generating renewable sources in remote communities.
It is noteworthy that the More Light for the Amazon program was part of the Abrace o Marajó program, coordinated by the Ministry of Women, The Family and Human Rights (MMFDH). Abrace o Marajó was created in March 2020 by the government, and seeks the socioeconomic development of the 16 municipalities that make up Marajó Island.ACESSE AS REDES DA PANORAMA OFFSHORE:
