Maduro expected to retake Petrocaribe in 2020

With Nicolás Maduro in the presidency, the government of Venezuela promised to resume with Petrocaribe in the first half of 2020. The announcement was held at a meeting of alba (Bolivarian Alliance of the Americas), at the end of Week. The program sells Venezuelan oil to neighboring countries for prices lower.

Created in 2005 by former President Hugo Chávez, the initiative is pointed out as one of the reasons for the financial problems of the oil company pdvsa, since for him, neighboring countries had, in addition to the discount on prices, long payment terms.

The advantage will be offered to the countries of the group, which currently includes Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, Dominica, Granada, Nicaragua, St. Christopher and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Venezuela. More details about the new version of the program have not yet been released.
