MT: fuel prices have new adjustment

Fuel prices in the state of Mato Grosso have readjusted. The change came after the end of the PIS/Cofins exemption earlier this month. The exemption, which was in effect for two months, was announced by the government as an attempt to insure the advance in the price of fuel.

According to the Union of Sugar and Alcohol Industries of the State of Mato Grosso (Sindalcool-MT), the price of ethanol was practiced in producers with an increase of R$ 0.13 last week. "Even so, Mato Grosso remains the state with the most competitive ethanol price compared to other states, second only to São Paulo," said Jorge dos Santos, the union's executive director.

It is worth remembering that the price of fuels are increased federal and state taxes, costs for the acquisition and mandatory mixing of biodiesel, in addition to the gross margins of the distribution companies and fuel resellers until, finally, reach the consumer.
