Niterói accounts for a profit of 50% of its revenues from petroleum royalties

For the first time, the budget of Niterói totaled about R $3.2 billion, exceeding its record of profit history. Altogether, around 41.8% equivalent to R $1.33 billion, were funds derived from the royalties of Petroleum and Special participations (PE), and is a main source of income of the municipality.

According to the annual budget law (LOA), this year, the value of R $230.5 million will be passed on to the urbanization and sanitation Housing Company (EMUSA), which shall invest in paving, macro and microdrainage works, providing solutions for flooding in Niterói region. In total, this project will have the application of R $86 million being r $40 million of royalties.
