Oil companies assess damage caused by Hurricane Laura

Oil and gas companies in the United States began to account for the damage caused by the recent hurricane Laura. Organized teams are checking offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico this Thursday (27).

Among other places, Laura passed through the main fields Gulf of Mexico oil production, with winds of around 240 km / h (kilometers per hour).

Exxon Mobil, for example, said it was contacting employees at its Beaumont, Texas, refinery, which processes 369,000 barrels a day, and preparing a preliminary damage assessment. The unit was among six closed this week, before the storm.
