With capacity to process daily up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day and compress up to 6 million cubic meters of natural gas, the P-77 started its operations in the field of Buzios, pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The platform is about 200 km from the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in depth of water of 1,980 meters.
The entry of P-77 in production made Petrobras the first oil and gas company in the world to initiate operations on seven FPSO-type platforms (floating production, storage and oil transfer) in just one year. Only in the first few months, three of the four platforms programmed in the current business plan and management of the company have been operational, and the P-68 operation is still scheduled for this year.
The introduction of these platforms will make the average oil production of Petrobras in Brazil reach 2.3 million barrels per day (bpd), which exceeds those of 2,035,000 bpd extracted last year.
