For the first time in the year, Petrobras decided to increase average diesel prices by 8%. Gasoline prices remained unchanged. According to Reuters, prices still accumulate a devaluation of around 40% this year and lag against imported fuel.
"The increase is still insufficient to cope with the high that we had in the international market, considering the strong high that we are having in the price of diesel now in the international market we are already more than 20 cents lagging (…) The gasoline is still well behind, we are between 15 and 20 cents of adjustment also delayed … it has been delaying the adjustments a lot," Thadeu Silva, head of oil and gas at INTL FCStone, told Reuters.
