Petrobras production rises 14% in the first quarter
Petrobras closed the first quarter of the year with a total production of 2.909 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). In total, the state-owned company's oil and natural gas production rose 14.6% over the same period last year.
The reason for this increase would be the development of new platforms in operation, according to the statement at Petrobras last Monday (27). In total, there were seven new platforms that went into operation, between 2018 and 2019, in the buzios, Lula and Berbigão/Sururu (P-68) fields. The information is from the state-owned company's quarterly production bulletin.
Petrobras' natural oil and gas production in Brazil, in turn, reached 2.32 million barrels per day – up 17.7% from the same period last year, down 3.1% from the fourth quarter of 2019.
