Fuel prices are expected to rise further

The appreciation of the barrel of oil in the international market and the rise in the dollar has put fuel prices on the rise in the Brazil. These two variables make up Petrobras' pricing policy.

In view of this scenario added to the ineffectiveness of the changes in the taxes proposed by the government, experts say that consumers must prepare the pocket to keep the car tank full. At the level of for example, according to data from the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) on February 13, the average price of gasoline in the Federal District was r$ 5,087, with a maximum of R$ 5,359.

It is worth remembering that after this disclosure, there was a review of the calculation of the Tax on Movement of Goods and Services (ICMS), with an impact of R$ 0.10 on the liter of fuel, in addition to an increase in the price of anhydrous ethanol with an increase of more R$ 0.10 in the pump price.

It is also worth mentioning that the ANP recently revealed a 5.26% increase in oil production in January compared to December 2010. 2020. Natural gas production grew 7.36%. So one might think that it will be somewhat difficult to find a way to reduce fuel prices in the internal market.
