Project develops energy through the floor

Renewable energy is increasingly conquering its space worldwide, showing its importance. And it is by searching for innovations in the sector that the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland, has developed a technology capable of generating electricity as steps are taken.

The design named "nanogenerator", is a special floor capable of capturing and generating energy through the steps. The system works due to species of nano crystals that are installed on the floors capable of detecting steps that generate friction, thus transforming into energy. The project is still under research and needs to be improved so that only later can it be manufactured and used, for example, in smart buildings.
