According to Panorama Offshore reported, due to the crisis currently plaguing the state of Rio de Janeiro, parliamentarians lobbied the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) in order to speed up the decision on the regulatory changes in oil royalties. However, the Minister of the Supreme Court, Luiz Fux, marked the audience between the government of Rio and the ANP to address this issue only for May 3.
In May last year, the minister paralyzed act of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) which determined that the ANP kept unchanged, "the system of minimum prices in force." However, the state prosecutor said the figures were out of date and, despite being one held the first hearing at the end of last year, the parties failed to arrive at an agreement.
So it was agreed at the last meeting, the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) have until March 1 to the publication of the decree with the new criteria for minimum pricing of oil produced each month in each field , and they serve to adopt the calculation of royalties. According to sources, the decision favorable to Rio can increase state revenue between R $ 1 billion and US $ 2 billion.
