The sale of the Petrobras Pasadena refinery to the American Chevron was completed. The negotiation was carried out by a value of US $467 million (equivalent to about R $1.830 billion). The confirmation of the sale was made by the state.
The transfer from Pasadena was settled in January, for US $562 million. However, the sale was made at a price below the expected (US $467 million). Of this value, US $350 million are by the shares and US $117 million per working capital.
Petrobras ' entry into the refinery took place in 2006, when the oil tanker acquired 50% of participation previously attributed to the Belgian Astra Oil. After 13 years, under the current moment of the disinvestment program experienced by the state, the oil company concludes the sale of its participation to Chevron. In addition to the refinery, the American acquired PRSI, a subsidiary of Petrobras that operates the refinery and PRSI Trading, which sells in crude and refined markets.
