Diesel sales in India return to pre-Covid levels

India recorded a rise in diesel sales this month October. This is the first time sales have increased in the country since it was restrictive measures against Covid-19 have been announced.

According to preliminary data from Indian Oil Corp, the largest refining and retailing of fuel in the country, sales increased 8.8% in first half of October. Although the figures are still preliminary, signal a recovery in industrial activity in the country

It is worth remembering that diesel sales account for about two-fifths of the country's total fuel demand, totaled 2.65 million tonnes, an increase of more than 24% compared to the previous month. In compared to gasoline, sales 1.5% compared to 982,000 tonnes in the first half of October – an increase of 1.45% compared to the same period of the last month.
