Indian startup creates portable wind turbine

Indian startup Avant Garde Innovations has developed a mini wind turbine ideal for homes, businesses and rural areas. The generator has low cost and lasts on average 20 years, and can be of great help mainly for families living in isolated regions.

The turbine that is not yet expected to be commercialized in Brazil, has an average cost (suggestion) of R$ 4,827 and has a maximum power generation capacity of 5 kW/h (kilowatt-hour) at a wind speed of 5.5m/s. The first prototype was chosen by the UN as one of the 20 best innovations of the Indian event Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP).
