Last Thursday (01), the Supreme Court (STF) decided to authorize sale of Petrobras refineries without approval from the Legislature. As a part, it rejected Complaint No. 42576, filed by the board of directors of the Senate and the House of Representatives, which accused the state of dismembering the parent company to sell subsidiaries, which do not require congressional approval.
Ministers Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli, Cármen Lúcia, Luís Roberto Barroso, Gilmar Mendes and Luiz Fux voted in favor of the legality of the sale. Edson Fachin, rapporteur of the case and who initiated the vote, was against it. With him, Rosa Weber, Ricardo Lewandowski and Marco Aurélio Mello. The session was closed by six votes releasing the sale against four opposed.
The decision strengthens Petrobras' development plan, which seeks to sell eight refineries and focus its investments in deepwater oil exploration in the pre-salt, rio-São Paulo axis.ACESSE AS REDES DA PANORAMA OFFSHORE:
