STF: Follows this Thursday (01) petrobras trial

On the afternoon of Thursday (01), the Plenary of the Supreme Court (STF) proceeds, through videoconference, with the trial against the sale of assets of Petrobras refineries. The judgment corresponds to Complaint No. 42576, filed by the presiding tables of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Refineries are Abreu e Lima (RNEST), in Pernambuco, Landulpho Alves (RLAM), bahia, and Presidente Getúlio Vargas (Repar), in Paraná.

The Legislative Houses allege an affront to the Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI) 5624, decided by the Supreme Court in 2019, which states the mandatory legislative authorization in the case of the sale of the parent company, but not subsidiaries. The Senate argues that the refineries would be part of Petrobras, the parent company.

At the session on Wednesday (29), the parties to the proceedings and representatives of the third parties concerned were heard. The trial continues with the presentation of the votes of ministers, starting with Minister Edson Fachin, rapporteur of the case.
