U.S. has major layoffs in the oil sector

The oil sector in the United States has accelerated jobs during july. According to the Association of Services and Petroleum Equipment, these cuts may increase even more due to the cases of Covid-19 in the country.

With economic activity reduced due to the pandemic, 9,344 fewer jobs in the oil sector in July, an increase of 43% compared to the previous month of this year. The figures were released by the association in a report in the last week.

As a com such, the total number of layoffs since the beginning of the in the U.S. already reaches 99,253, with the regions of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico the hardest hit. It is also worth mentioning that the level of oilfield employment in the country is already the lowest since March 2017.
